Ex-Prisons Controller Killed By Unknown Gunmen In His Farm At Nasarawa


The untimely death of a former Assistant Controller-General of Prisons, Nanvyet Gwali that was killed on his farm by unknown gunmen has been confirmed by the Nigeria Prisons Service (NPS).

While confirming the death of Gwali in a statement made on Tuesday in Abuja, the Public Relations Officer of Nigeria Prisons Service, Francis Enobore, disclosed that Gwali was killed by yet to be identified gunmen on the 10th of August 2018 at his farm in Laminga, near keffi, Nasarawa State. 

He added that the service was in touch with the relevant security agencies who were on the trail of the perpetrators of the heinous crime to ensure that they were brought to justice.

According to report, the late Gwali who transferred his services from Plateau Ministry of Education to NPS in 1989 as a Superintendent of Prisons and rose to the rank of Deputy Controller-General of Prisons, retired in February 2016 as Deputy Controller-General of Prisons in-charge of Finance and Accounts.
