Photo: Yahoo Boy Arrested By EFCC Inside The Bank Over £30,000 Love Scam


Anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has reportedly arrested a suspected internet fraudster aka Yahoo boy identified as Fidelis Iruedo, 31, over a £30,000 Love Scam.

According to report, the suspected love scammer, was arrested on Wednesday, 24th of January, 2018, for allegedly defrauding a United Kingdom citizen of £30,000 (Thirty Thousand Pounds) in a romance scam.
It was learnt that luck ran out on Fidelis after a petition to the Commission by the Nigerian High Commission, London, on behalf of one Alan Digweed, a UK citizen, alleged that the suspect had defrauded his victim of the said amount of money and investigations by the anti-graft agency revealed that Fidelis Iruedo, who voluntarily confessed to the crime, met his victim between July and December 2017, via a date site, match.com.

Fidelis who paraded himself as a lady, procured British passport using the name ‘Tracy Anderson’ with which he used to defraud the victim, was arrested in Abuja, during an attempt to make withdrawal in a bank and after his arrest, items recovered from him included: several scam letters, 3 flash drives, 1 iphone and a laptop computer.

According to report, Fidelis Iruedo, will be arraigned in court as soon as investigations are concluded.
