20-Year-Old Nigerian Girl Raped During Job Interview In Lagos

A 20-Year old female job seeker, (name withheld) was reportedly raped by  a 35-year old man identified as Babatunde Orekoya, who promised to give her a job in Lagos.

According to P.M.EXPRESS, the rapist has been arrested for having unlawful carnal knowledge of the lady she raped at his house at Awoyokun Street in Ilupeju area of Lagos.

It was learnt that the victim fell into the suspect’s trap when she contacted him and told him about her plight on trying to get a job while asking him to assist her in securing one, which he promised to do. But on the day of the incident, the suspect had called her to inform her that he had gotten a job for her with a good salary, while asking her to come to his house so that from there he will take her to the place for the routine interview so that she can immediately secure the job.

On getting to his house to her surprise, the suspect locked the door from inside, after increasing the volume of his sound system so that the neighbours will not hear her cry for help while he raped her.

“He forcefully tore my pant, over powered me and penetrated before he allowed me to go.” The victim said.

While adding that after he released her, she went home and told her parents what happened. They immediately reported case to the police at Ilupeju Division after which the suspect was arrested and detained at the police station.

He was later charged before an Ogba Magistrates court for the alleged offence and he pleaded not guilty, while the presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.O. Shomade ordered him to be remanded in prison custody without granting him any bail and adjourned the case till 12th of February, 2018, when the court will rule on his bail condition.
